An Open Letter to Customers of Breathe Education Pilates Certification

August 23, 2026 -
To the Customers of Breathe Education Pilates Certification Impacted by Breathe Education's Company Liquidation:
Like you, we were shocked and deeply disappointed to learn that as of 20 August, 2026 Breathe Education announced it was insolvent and had entered into liquidation. We understand that many students invested significant time, money, and effort into their education and were still working toward their certifications when this happened. This is obviously difficult for you personally, and we believe it is damaging for the Pilates certification industry as a whole.
We want to do what we can to support you.
A little about us:
Pilates Instructor Academy is a small, woman-owned Pilates teacher training and certification company based in the United States. We have been training and certifying Pilates instructors for 26 years.
For our first 18 years, we trained instructors in brick-and-mortar locations. Today, we specialize exclusively in online Pilates teacher training and certification.
Our programs are contemporary, exercise science-based Pilates certifications. We want to be transparent about that distinction: if you are specifically looking for a strictly classical Pilates certification, we are probably not going to be the right fit for you.
Our mission is simple:
We provide high-quality, reputable Pilates certifications that are accessible, convenient, inclusive, and intentionally affordable.
You can learn more about us and our certification programs here:

We recognize that every former Breathe student is in a different situation.
Rather than trying to offer a one-size-fits-all answer, we will do our best to customize a solution that recognizes the work you have already completed and provides a reasonable path toward earning your Pilates instructor certification.
What we cannot do is grant a certification based on another company's coursework.
To help us understand your individual circumstances, click the link above and the “Get Started Now” button. This will take you to our Certification Request Form.
When you complete the form:
In the Prerequisites section, please type: “Bridge Program for Former Breathe Education Customer.”
Then, please give us as much information as possible about your Breathe training and where you were in their certification process. Include the following:
- What type of Pilates certification were you pursuing with Breathe?
- Which portions of the program did you complete?
- Approximately how far along were you when Breathe entered liquidation?
- Were there specific coursework, assessments, observation, practice teaching, exams, or other requirements you had already completed?
The more information you provide, the better we can evaluate your situation and determine how we may be able to help.
There is absolutely no cost to submit the Certification Request Form and submitting it does not commit you to purchasing or enrolling in anything.
Once we receive your information, our team will review it and determine what options we may be able to offer you.
We know that you did not expect to find yourself searching for another certification provider after already investing in your Breathe education. Our goal is not to make you start the process over. Our goal is to find a fair and practical way forward that also aligns with our mission.
We are so very sorry that you and so many other Breathe students are facing this situation, and we hope we can help.
