101 Fundamental and Beginning Pilates Mat

A Refresher for PMA Certified Teachers. Required for Comprehensive Instructor Education (Also Offered as Continuing Education)

This intensive 15 hour weekend course is designed to take PMA Certified Pilates Teachers "Back to Basics".  It is a comprehensive review of fundamental and beginning Pilates Mat exercises for group or private instruction.  We approach Pilates as an important element of fitness that enhances the clients’ ability to perform in all aspects of exercise, sport and health.  Our unique curriculum draws on the connection between the principles of exercise science and the focus of mind body fitness. The course is taught by experienced fitness professionals who are continuing education providers for AFAA and PMA.

102 Intermediate and Advanced Pilates Mat

During this 10 hour workshop, you’ll master the intermediate and advanced Pilates exercises. We approach Pilates mat work from both an historical and exercise science perspective.  You’ll learn the complex biomechanics behind the movements including the importance of scapular stabilization and how to safely progress your clients.

103 Advanced Pilates Mat Using Props

The 6 hour course is open to certified instructors, experienced mat instructors, personal trainers and group fitness instructors who would like to learn more about the small prop equipment in a mat setting. This fun and high-energy workshop will teach you how to enhance your Pilates mat classes using stability balls, bands, rings and foam rollers.  You’ll each exercise to thoroughly teach form, breathing, modification and variations.

202 Clinical Assessment for Fitness Professionals

Personal Best Pilates Instructor Academy™ teams up with SERC Physical and Hand Therapy™ to bring you this unique opportunity in Clinical Assessment. During this hands-on workshop you will learn a variety of practical functional assessments that will identify your clients' muscular imbalances and improper movement patterns. Our instructors will then teach you specific exercises and stretches to address the physical fitness needs of your clients. The assisted stretching and PNF techniques will provide added benefits to your clients' programs. 404 Flexibility and Advanced Stretching Techniques

This 4 hour course is designed to teach Pilates instructors, group fitness instructors, personal trainers and other fitness professionals the knowledge and skills they need to be able to choose and execute the most effective stretches to meet their clients' goals. This workshop content goes beyond the basic stretches and delves into the anatomy of each stretch, including when to stretch, in what order, and for how long. Participants will be shown a variety of stretches for every major muscle group and joint.
